Women's Ministry

Welcome to Christ Community Church Women's page. Here you'll find info on the events & happenings of our women's ministry.

Christmas Painting Party - Wed, Nov 30 at 6:30pm

The women will be having a sips and strokes painting party at the church on Nov. 30 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10 to attend and covers the cost of painting supplies. Charissa Franklin is going to lead us in a time of creating a holiday art piece as we sip hot cider and fellowship with one another. Bring a friend! Even if you don't plan to paint, we hope you will still come! Please sign up here or email the church to let us know you plan to come! We'll collect your $10 supplies fee at the door. See you there!

For Fall 2022, we have a drop-in bible study on Wednesday nights. We will likely add a few social events to our calendar, too. Check back soon to get plugged in!

Fall 2022 Study

"You're Only Human: How Your Limits Reflect God's Design and Why That's Good News" by Kelly Kapic. Meeting Wednesday nights at 7pm beginning Sept 14th at Susan Cunningham's home.

A Note about COVID-19

Through 2020 and into 2022, our women's ministry has experienced some changes to our usual routines and gatherings. This spring, we're planning some exciting new things, and we hope you'll join us.

Typical Women's Ministry Events

Bible Studies: In the fall, spring, and summer, we usually offer a Scripture-based bible studies to encourage our women and deepen their understanding of the Word of God.

Fellowship Events: We usually offer 1-2 social/fellowship events each quarter. In the past, we've done dinners out, craft nights, household goods "swaps," and other fun events. These are usually offered on a one-time basis. Keep checking this page for future events!

Conferences/Training: Usually once/year we plan or join a local conference for training and encouragement. Our last conference was Nancy Guthrie's Biblical Theology Workshop for women (Feb 2020). Conferences have been on hiatus due to COVID, but we hope to rejoin them soon.

Summer Potlucks: In the summers, our women usually meet twice a month for a good, old-fashioned (but often with paleo or low carb options) potluck! Potlucks kick off at 7pm and end when the mosquitoes eat more than we do.

HOPE Group: Hope group is a place especially for women who have been affected by infertility, infant loss, or pregnancy loss. Women of any age are welcome, and we meet the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 at the church. Click here for more info!

CCC Women on social media

FACEBOOK: To get the latest up-to-date info on any of the below events, please check out our church Facebook page or CCC Women's Facebook page for details, event pages, and more info. Many of our women's ministry events include fellowships (dinners, hangouts), ministry events (packing parties for The Well-House or Shelby County Foster Parents' Assoc), and the occasional retreat.

MOM'S PLAYGROUP: All CCC members/attenders/visitors who are moms can and should join our Facebook group. We post impromptu playdates (usually in/around Helena/Pelham/Alabaster), outings, requests for recommendations, names of sitters, free clothes/toys, etc. on this page. IT IS LIFE SAVING + HELPFUL to moms!...even older moms...as (ahem) a few of us are. You can just read the posts, or join the conversation & offer up some of your own gently used items. Seriously, don't buy another toddler bike...someone in this group will have a loaner for you. See you in the group! To ask to join this group, you may contact Caroline or Heather (group admins).

PCA's Women's Ministry: Want to connect with our denomination's women's ministry events? Click the CDM's Women's Ministry Page for more info. You can also get information on the PCA's annual women's conferences here.
